If you can keep a positive attitude when all about you are nay Sayers and discouraging
If you can believe in yourself when others doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait for weight loss and not be tired by waiting,
If you can weigh, but not put too much importance in weighing
If you can dream of thinness and not make thin dreams your master;
If you can think of change, and not make thoughts your aim – but actions your guide;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the goals you’ve spoken Twisted by others to discourage,
Or watch the things you give to your new journey, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with your new tools;
If you can make one heap of all your failures, and send them up in smoke;
To begin to build your new beginnings with a smile and hope;
If you can force your heart and nerve to serve you through thick and thin;
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will, which says to them: “Hold On”
If you can walk with big and thin and keep your focus;
If neither foes nor well meaning friends can hurt you,
If all others count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of trying,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And- which is more- you’ll be a successful Bandster, my friend!
